Landscape Matters

Did you meet us in Edinburgh or come to the exhibition at Edinburgh College of Art?! The events over the weekend of 25-26 June were part of Paint the Town Red, an international student festival of landscape architecture. Landscape architecture is about places for people, spaces to breathe, whether it be in urban or rural environments - from creating new places for people to enjoy, to conserving and safeguarding our heritage.
This website is put together by SLIC, the student landscape body. We hope you will find it interesting and informative. Please leave a message on our discussion section if you enjoyed Paint the Town Red, or have questions and comments.
If you would like further information on careers in landscape architecture or more information about landscape architecture in general, why not visit the Landscape Institute website or email Sabina Mohideen, sabinam@landscapeinstitute.org, for a careers pack.
Thanks to all those who have attended the event. Hope you have enjoyed the event, and that the cross city challenge has somewhat given you some inspiration towards the way one can experience landscape.
Hey all challenge takers!! I hope you all had a brilliant time on the Sunday-you had the right weather for it, it was lovely to meet you all on Saturday! The course in Brighton was well worth it, I hope you guys benefitted as much as I did this week!
Any interesting happenings? What did I miss??

Lovely!! Its pretty straigtforward to become a member of SLIC. In theory you are one now. I happened to have joined SLIC via this website a year ago. Everyone is welcome. It is all you young bubbly people who make the student council work. Just turn up to our meetings and hey presto. Contribute as much as you can. And remember… all your individual efforts will make big differences, not only to students but to the profession as a whole. Its all goooood!!!
I bet it wasn’t as much fun without a trip to casualty eh folks?
