The landscape course at Sheffield is distinctively different, being a series of dual honours degrees, offering a specialism in a related subject in addition to landscape architecture. They include Landscape with Planning or ecology or architecture. Indeed, the course at Sheffield has been recognised as one of the best courses in the country, as highlighted by The Times Good University Guide.

Most of the academics on the course, will have been involved in influencing ( and many implementing) many landscape issues within the UK and internationally. Thus, you can expect a lot of high quality teaching. In addition, the university is a member of the Russell Group, establishing it as one of the top 20 universities in the country.

Sheffield not only has a very respected academic reputation, but also boasts a very lively social life. To begin with, it is the 4th safest city in the country, and the Students Union has been voted as one of the top unions in the country by the Virgin Alternative Guide to British Universities (2000). The city also boasts a large number of bars and places to shop and eat, as with all cities, but with the advantage of a National Park being a stones throw away as well! so combining a life in the city and the country is easy.

And of course… the uni is both a campus and a city centre based uni. So you wont have to walk far to reach the centre.
