The course structure is diverse ranging from wacky design modules in the start of first year; constructing tactile sensory cubes expressing mood and feeling of music. To more practical design based exercises such as redesigning courtyards and parks. Leeds examination process is based on a portfolio of work accumulated throughout each year. This is examined at an end of year exhibition with no formal end of year exams. There are still exams in the form of plant tests but nothing as scary as sitting final exams!

Leeds metropolitan offers a key facility that no other university has to offer. The Landscape Resource Centre at Beckets Park offers work shop facilities, nursery are provided and hands-on experienced gained.

At the end of third year there is an exciting opportunity to implement designs in a real life situation. The design and community programme is unique in its structure, with a real client, brief and budget.
